Projects & Experience

Human Factors Engineering

Analysis and design of human-machine interfaces, training systems, maintenance aids

• As systems become more complex and capable it is critically important the human interface to these systems be carefully analyzed and defined. We provide this capability and extend it to the design and development of training systems and automated maintenance aid systems

MANPRINT/HFE SUPPORT FCS (Future Combat Systems)
BAE Land Systems, Santa Clara, CA

Nova is providing HFE (Human Factors Engineering) support to include the integration of human characteristics into system definition, design, development and evaluation to optimize human-machine performance under operational conditions. Nova is currently working on the FCS/MGV common systems requirements for BAE, IAW AR 602. Regulation stipulates adherence to the seven MANPRINT domains.

Nova's Human Factors Engineers work with Systems Engineers to design and evaluate human-system interfaces to ensure they are compatible with the capabilities and limitations of the user population. Nova's work maximizes the ability of an individual or crew to operate and maintain a system at required performance levels by eliminating designed-induced difficulty and error.

Summary Of Our Experience And Capabilities
Lockheed Martin Missiles and Space Company
SXI Program: a satellite sensor to locate coronal holes for geomagnetic storm forecast, detect and locate flares for forecasts of solar energetic particles (SEP) events related to flares. Nova provides electronic, mechanical, and thermal engendering support

Advance Extremely High Frequency (AEHF) Program: Satellite communication system to replace military. Nova creates and maintains satellite-ground station IDC

Solar B: Will revel the mechanism for solar variability and study the origins of space weather and global change. Nova provides electronic, mechanical, and thermal engineering support.

Hirdls: A satellite package to measure radiance from the thermal emission of trace chemical elements in the atmosphere performance through a cooled infrared optical system.

Triana Epic: Will provide continuous scientific measurements of the earth’s atmosphere and surface.
